Gentle Touch Massage
A gentle and relaxing massage using firm but light pressure with long gliding strokes, kneading of the muscles, and gentle friction on the muscle tissue. Sometimes I incorporate Healing Touch Energy Work, Trager, or Craniosacral Therapy into my light touch massages depending on what my client needs. This massage relaxes the nervous system, improves circulation, eases aches and pain, increases flexibility, and provides an overall sense of wellbeing.
Deep Tissue Massage

When giving a Deep Tissue Massage I focus on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. The purpose is to release chronic patterns of tension held in the body, and “unstick” the fibers of the muscles, tendons, and fascia. Slower strokes with more direct pressure are used. Some of the Deep Tissue techniques I use are Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Assisted Stretching, and other modalities that assist the body in letting go of deeply held tension. Deep Tissue Massage gives relief from pain resulting from tight muscles impinging on nerves. It also increases circulation, bringing in oxygen and nutrients to the muscle tissue and releasing toxins. The amount of pressure used in your massage will be adjusted according to your level of comfort.
Lymph Drainage Therapy

Lymph Drainage Therapy uses a very gentle light touch technique that stimulates the body’s own lymphatic flow. The lymph system carries nutrients from the blood to the cells, cleanses and removes toxins from the cells, and transports our immune system and repair functions of the body. We have 3 times more lymph fluid than blood in our body. There is no pump for the lymph system, it works in peristaltic wavelike movements. When this movement slows down or becomes congested it affects the body’s ability to rid itself of waste. When this happens the body may experience edema (swelling of the extremities), pain, sinus congestion, and other symptoms of discomfort or disease.
In a Lymph Drainage Therapy session I use subtle maneuvers to restore the body’s natural lymph flow, stimulate the immune system and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. A session of LDT can aid the body in reducing swelling, relieving sinus and allergy problems, detoxification, reducing chronic pain and fibromyalgia symptoms, and promoting a deep state of relaxation to aid in insomnia and stress relief. Many people who have experienced a Lymph Drainage session report feeling lighter, more relaxed, and a greater sense of vitality.
